    Hilgers Pendex Appliance

The Pendex Appliance is used to distalize the molars and expand the arch simultaneously. Effective arch development is achieved with .032 TMA wire embedded in acrylic, an expansion screw, and rests on the premolars. It produces a wide swinging arc of force from the midline of the palate to the upper molars producing a pendulum motion of the spring. An adjustment loop can be added to the spring to aid in rotation of the molars. Lingual sheaths are spot welded onto the band and can be provided by the lab.

  • RPERPE

    Hyrax RPE (Rapid Palatal Expander)

The RPE is typically used in phase I treatment to widen the arch, either prior or during fixed treatment. Our expanders come in 7 or 11 mm screws and vary in activation depending on the style. Our standard expander uses the 11mm Leone expander and has welded lingual wires expanding to the premolars or cuspids. It is constructed entirely of biomedical stainless steel, and the housing is completely smooth with no rough areas to aid in hygiene. With each expansion appliance, we provide a custom swivel key that has an integrated activation recording tool directly on the handle.

Tip: If you find an expander is hard to turn, run under warm water to loosen the threads.

The RPE is typically used in phase I treatment to widen the arch, either prior or during fixed treatment. Facemask hooks are last welded for Class III correction. Our expanders come in 7 or 11 mm screws and vary in activation depending on the style. Our standard expander uses the 11mm Leone expander and has welded lingual wires expanding to the premolars or cuspids. Hyrax RPE with Tongue Crib

The RPE is typically used in phase I treatment to widen the arch, either prior or during fixed treatment. Along with the RPE, we can add a tongue crib to aid in thumb and tongue thrusting habits. • LEAF RPELEAF RPE

    Leaf Spring Activated Expander

The Leaf Spring Activated Expander from Leone is an evolution in design from the spring-loaded expander, designed with the technical and scientific collaboration of Dr. Claudio Lanteri and Mr. Filippo Francolini. Its small size body and two Nickel Titanium Memoria® leaf springs allow the release of calibrated and continuous forces to promote the dental expansion of the maxillary arch. Re-loading is needed when the two opposing leaf springs move apart. The intraoral activation will put the springs in contact again. Available in both 6 and 9mm of expansion and 450 grams and 900 grams of force. With each expansion appliance, we provide a custom swivel key that has an integrated activation recording tool directly on the handle.

  • LEONE fastbackLEONE fastback distalizer

    Leone Fast Back

The “fastback” is an appliance used for the distalization of the upper molars. This device provides the translation movement of the molars using a predetermined amount of pressure. There is no need for the cooperation of the patient maintaining good anchorage control. The principle of this device is based on the compression of Ni-Ti springs (available is 200 or 300 grams) which exert a constant force on the molar. To achieve this result, while still enabling precise control of tooth movement and ensuring the greatest comfort possible for the patient, an arm is fabricated to fit into a small tube (1.1 mm diameter) which is soldered to the palatal surface of the bands on the molars to be distalized. An open Memoria® spring is added to the arm and delivers the required force to move the tooth in the desired direction, which is determined by the arm sliding inside the tube.

  • lower-lingual-holding-arch-loopslower lingual holding arch with loops

    Lower Lingual Holding Arch

The Lower Lingual Holding Arch Appliance is used to stabilize the position of the lower molars and anterior incisors after phase I treatment. It can be used in conjunction with the Halterman attachment to aid in the eruption of compacted molars.  Spurs can also be welded to engage the distal of the laterals as well as adjustment loops. This appliance can be manufactured from your 3D scan.

This appliance can be removable with lingual sheaths or using Wilson™ 3D attachments.

If removable is can also be activated in order to obtain molar movements in all planes of space.

  • MDA mini-distalizing-applianceMDA mini distalizing appliance

    MDA – Mini Distalizing Appliance

The MDA is an appliance used to achieve arch development through expansion of a compact RPE and pre-activated .032 removable TMA springs. The design allows for expansion and distalization to occur in two phases. Once the proper width is complete via the screw, the clinician cuts the wire holding the pre-activated springs to begin distalization. With each expansion appliance, we provide a custom swivel key that has an integrated activation recording tool directly on the handle.
